PHOTO STORY:
This pier is a hidden gem. I didn't even know there was a pier in this particular area of the island until I was on a ridge hike that overlooked it. I decided to hunt it down. I had to weave my way through streets and do quite a few u-turns at dead ends before I found it. I knew it would have to be a sunrise photo as the pier faced east. The evening before this moody sunrise picture was taken, I received a phone call from a friend. His truck was in the shop so he needed a ride to work at 4 AM. He worked at a golf coarse and had to be there before sunrise on the other side of the island. Lucky for me it was in the same area as the pier. This was the perfect opportunity to see what nature would show me. I wasn't sure if I would even get a shot due to heavy rain on the way there. I arrived just as first light started showing. I made my way down the beach and under the pier to the other side. The beach scene that unfolded took my breath away. The stormy deep blue rain clouds passing with the sunrise reflecting off the water made a haunting and powerful ocean picture of a tropical Monsoon Morning.
